1/10/2013 - Where the Heart IS

Greetings all, my Spirits are High and my Energy is OK.

Lots and lots of work at the J.O.B. Many special projects that need my attention. It's funny to be the "Indispensable Employee". I get rewarded with tons of work because my peers are not capable of handling the projects yet we earn the same salary. OK I will move on to better things......

Well what's going on? What's going on indeed!!! Well I have decided to engage in another 30 day self imposed challenge. What kind of challenge one may ask, well the 5BD (5 Bite Deit) challenge. Of course it will be done Ala Zero Carb. So when will all this happen? Tune in next week for all the Fun Filled Facts.......NOT!!!

Actually I will start this challenge....... well........... lets see........ maybe...... next Monday?  No, let's say ...... Friday. Yes, Friday will good as any. It will give me a few days to practice...........Hahaha!!! No it will give me a few days to prepare some food. Hmm do I see my almost famous Zero Carb Beef Meatballs in the near future? Yes, because I ate the last one today and I need to make a batch.

That being said, it may give me an opportunity to take some pictures and add a recipe to my recipe page. Hey I promised Sara, didn't I? Yes, yes I sure did. Also Rib eyes are on sale and I need to buy $10.00 to get them at the sale price and some Angus Ground Chuck will fit the bill. Oh the Rib eyes are $3.99 lb. Not a bad deal.

So what about the "Face lift" of this blog? I really like it myself. I worked real hard at it. Hey I wanted to give it a nice warm look. I love the painting that I found. I had to crop it to fit.  I like the new title too. I still have "The Chronicles of David" at the bottom in place of the description, but that might change too. I don't know. I have to give it some thought.

OK, so that is that...... come fly with me.

Have a Healthy Day my Friends and Family. Things stay the Same, Things are in constant Change........... Keep the Faith and Always Battle On!!!

Cheers,

Dave

  4. The new 'face lift' gives a very classy look to this blog!!!

Personaly, I would keep the 'The Chronicles of David'. it gives a personal thought.

The 5 ZCBD is very interesting; you are beginning to convince me to try this even if somewhere I am afraid to try it…….

    1. Hi Pro(ZC)ac, Classy indeed!!! Actually I did not think of it as classy, but you are right if I should say so myself.

Keep the Chronicles of David? Well I am leaning that way. Unless some big change happens, it most likely will stay.

AS far as the 5BD is concerned, it is hard to say. You will be in good hands if you keep it ZC. Other than that it could open doors for those of us that can't control sugar addictions......... like me. It is the "KISS of DEATH" the sugar that is....

Try it if you want to lean out a little. You don't have to do 30 days or course. Email me with any concerns. I will be glad to share my experience as it relates with you my Friend.

  6. Hi Anonymous, if you stick to the plan like a Spartan it should take you 6 - 8 weeks. I would suggest doing all Zero Carb. Carb type foods will only keep you hungry for the most part. Fatty meat will satisfy you and break any sweet cravings. Hey that is just my Opinion and Experience. Other may say different. If you have any specific questions feel free to email like many others do or post another comment. Good luck!

****Remember there are no cheat days. You must stay on track the whole time or have to start over from ground ZERO every time you cheat****

  7. Thank you so much!!yeah I guess I will have to follow this like a spartan,i have to loose weight really fast!haha
I'm avoiding white carbs already, but I'm vegan, do you have any tips?

    1. Hi Anonymous, vegan huh? Well my friend I can offer a few prayers that's all. Well I am a Zero Carber (ZC)er and can only say that you should give it a try, but if that is out of the cards..........

......then try to keep away from those "white carbs". So you don't eat any meat what-so-ever? Have you been a vegan for a long time? These answers would help a lot for some guidance. BTW do you eat any seafood that is not related to the Plant kingdom?

      Cheers,

      Dave

  8. I've been a vegetarian for 2 years and vegan for about 2 months now, I discovered that i'm allergic to vitamin B12, it's a rare condition, so I can't eat animal products at all

  10. Hi Twiggy, I am so sorry to hear this. You are between a rock and a hard place indeed. What has been told to you about the foods you can eat? I really want to understand so that I can help see what approach to the 5BD you can take. If am not mistaken all animal protein has b12. Are there some plants that you have been warned to stay away from. I read that bananas contain some b12 because of the micro-organism that live in them.

    Cheers,

    Dave

  11. yeah you're right mate all animal protein has b12, but I can eat all the rest there's no warning about it, what do you think about eating soy instead of meat for the 5bd?

  12. Hi Twiggy, sorry for the late reply. If you want to lose weight fast and learn about "potion control", well the 5 Bite Diet is the ticket especially if you can't do "Zero Carb". This is my advice to you. The basic 5BD:

*Fast for your first meal. You can drink plain hot/tea or coffee. Please do not use sugar substitutes. They will give you sugar cravings from hell. They are really bad for you. Seltzer water with a squeeze of lime or lemon would be better than diet sodas as an alternative.

*Lunch: Eat 5 bites of food, any kind. The "Trick"? Yes, it must be dense. I suggest no more than 3 oz or 85 grams for you metric folks

*Dinner: the same as lunch. Of course you can eat what ever food that you are allowed, but keep it the same amount.

What people fail to follow is that the food needs to be dense or compact. You want to shrink your stomach. So 3oz of dense food. Don't look at the calories at all. It does not matter.

Since you can't eat meat tofu would fit the bill for a protein and dense food. Cook it anyway you want. Frying it in oil is really good, don't forget to add a little spice of your choice for flavor. Just try to get the hard tofu. Also the dry tofu is really good and very close to meat in taste. It is really dense. Fry it will some Asian or any kind of chili or hot sauce. Or saute it with green onions or mushrooms.

If you need tofu recipes email me. I can come up with some really tasty ones. If you have any questions just post them in the comment section of my latest post or email me. Sometimes I miss new comments in older posts. Good luck. Stay Strong, Live Long and Always Battle On!!!

    Cheers,

    Dave
