1/28/2016 - Blast from the Past - DAY 24

Greetings all,

 Alright is that crickets I hear in the background??? HA! Without delay my next installment of “Blast from the Past” :

Original Stardate: 7/24/2010
I had a real nice day. I made a nice breakfast for my DW. We then went for a nice walk along the Waterway and then Market Street. We took a ride on the trolley and spent some time at a real nice upscale market. I stared with drool at the aged beef case. 

We then did some grocery shopping at Wal-Mart and Kroger. I picked up 10 lbs of Ground Chuck (80/20). I got a real good deal at Kroger on the GB for 1.65 lb. I usually pay 2.00 or a little more normally. It comes in a 5 lb tube. When I got home I made 30 ¼ burgers on the outside grill. I’m in the process of flash freezing them as I type. 

DW asked me to make my famous Italian Lasagna for tomorrow. We bought all the ingredients that we did not have on hand today. I have to admit that I still enjoy cooking. I could care less about the dish, I just like cooking. Among my crowd I’m the “MAN” when it comes to the kitchen. I always get rave reviews from family and friends when I host dinner parties. I just love to cook.  

Now cleaning is another story.

Original Stardate: 7/24/2010
I was TOAST yesterday after I got off work. I ended up crashing out around 7:30 pm or so. It was a hectic week not only on (ZC) but at work. I will try to use this weekend to refocus what works for me on (ZC) and fight the temptation to experiment (my turkey experiment). 

Steak, GB and H2O are my friends, no need to break up the “Terrific Trio”. 

My “tummy troubles” seem to have settled for the most part. I occasional get them, but with less ferocity. It’s hard to get use to not having to go to the “Water Closet” as often as I use to. I always feel that’s something’s wrong with me instead of “hey stupid, this is the way it’s supposed to be (duh)” 

I got up super early today because of all the rest I got last night. I ended up eating twice yesterday. Late morning and again just before I left work. I felt a little hungry just before I knocked out, but I was too tired to get up to eat. I wasn’t starving or anything so I just crashed.

My spirits are soaring once again, thank God for weekends. I probably have enough steak supplies to last for about three days, then I will grill up 5 lbs worth of GB (80/20).

All in all this has been a good Journey for me. I don’t give up easy. I don’t run when faced with the enemy. I hold my ground and fight.

I mentioned being very tired the day before and that I had a hard week. Tummy Troubles are almost a thing of the past. Again with the “experiments” lol!!! At this point I am trying to focus on basic eating: the “Terrific Trio”= Steak, Ground Beef and H20. I have to say up to this very day I still cook SAD for those in my household that eat it. I always try to tweak the recipes to reflect lower carbs. I know for some here that may or may not be acceptable, but they do not live in my shoes and what they do in their households is their business not mine. I actually said that in one breath. Hahaha!!! 

This Rookie still understands the “Power of Preparation”. Make and store food ahead of time, instead of making “Cheap Excuses” of why I cheated on my way of eating. I have to honestly say that looking back on this post I really love the following statement I wrote: “. I don’t give up easy. I don’t run when faced with the enemy. I hold my ground and fight.” FIGHT INDEED!!! 

Have a Healthy Day my Family and Friends. Stand your Ground. Don’t give back an INCH. You have fought too hard to gain it. Keep the Faith and Always Battle On!!!

  1. "Basic eating" is what Zero Carb is all about!!!

    And a study that just came out where some searches had to check AGAIN if Eskimos, eating only animal fats, were as healthy as the original studies have reported... just to find out THAT IN FACT THEY ARE IN TOP SHAPE!!!

    Having excuses for not being able to do Zero Carb is just like lying to oneself!!!


    1. Right on Denis, we only fool ourselves with excuses. Eat Zero Carb and be healthy forever!!! Battle On!!!
